Leave Those Funds Alone
While taxing pensions and retirement makes sense, it is not the right call. To tax these accounts now would be changing the rules in the middle of the game. It’s almost as if workers are being punished for planning for their future, possibly having to rely on government assistance. As more baby boomers retire, combined with less pensions/retirement funds, less money is spend on the economy which is key to reviving Michigan.
